Meet Rebecca Rahma Hossain
My name is Rahma, and I’m from Bangladesh. I am deaf. I am the only deaf person in my hearing family. When I was 7 years old my family moved to America so that they could find a a better educational system for me. So, they sent me to a mainstream school for both hearing and deaf students. I was taught in an oral school but when I saw the first deaf person signing with their hands in my life. I knew that was my true native language and I was fascinated to learn ASL. Now, I teach ASL in person and online throughout the U.S.A. and I share my beautiful language with everyone who is interested to learn about American Sign Language and deaf culture.
,I would love to hear your story 🙂
